Matunda Tourism

So, you thought we were just a children’s charity hey?

The Peace Matunda project was in fact started as far back as 2000, then a cultural tourism and safaris project set on employing local tradesmen and guides within the close Meru community. Since then we have expanded not only in our expeditions but we now also employ over 20 highly skilled and experienced guides and drivers from the local area providing them with ongoing training and development.

We have over 10 years of experience in game drive safaris, climbing, cultural tours and many other adventurous pursuits. Whatever your goal whilst in Tanzania, we can help you achieve it.

It’s also important to remember that it was through this tourism project that the school and orphanage could be founded. Kaaya ensured that the profits from his business went directly back into the school and orphanage, which he cares so deeply about. We even offer the option of taking local children for free on a day’s safari (see more details under our safari page).

Choosing a Matunda cultural programme, is not only experiencing the country and wildlife at their best, you are also encouraged and welcome to come and visit the school and orphanage for a day and meet the children.

You can also be involved in supporting the school and orphanage through any of the below ways:

  • Sponsored climbs
  • Adding an extra donation on to your expedition purchase

To find out more about the options please choose from the list below:

  • Safaris
