Peace Matunda Tours was founded in 2000 by Tanzanian local, Unambwe Zephania Kaaya, a professional wildlife guide and community leader. Beginning as just small cultural tour company, it has expanded over the years to offer a variety of cultural tourism options, wildlife safaris, and trekking.
Peace Matunda Tours is set on employing local tradesmen and guides within the Meru community. We now employ over 20 highly skilled and experience guides and drivers and provide them with ongoing training and development. We differ from other Tanzanian safari companies in that our profits are used to support Peace Matunda School and Orphanage. It was first through this initiative that Kaaya was able to establish the school and orphanage. Choosing Peace Matunda Tours, not only allows you to experience the country and wildlife at their best, but also support the local school and orphanage.
We have over 15 years of experience in game drive safaris, trekking, and cultural tours. Whatever your goal whilst in Tanzania, we can help you achieve it.

In the Swahili language ‘safari’ means ‘journey,’ but nowadays it seems to mean ‘game drive.’ Peace Matunda Tours is located in the Arusha region of Northern Tanzania. Northern Tanzania is home to some of the most famous safari lands in the world: Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Manyara National Park to name but a few. Situated along the Great Rift Valley that stretches from Jordan in the Middle East, all the way down to Mozambique in East Africa, each park has its own unique environment and wildlife habitat. We offer all inclusive safaris to many parks in Tanzania, not just the Northern Circuit, and they can range from 1 day to several weeks. Overnight stays often consist of staying within a patrolled but open campsite near or close to the park. Camping is the most common way to experience a game drive safari, however, if you’re not the camping kind then don’t be put off! We can offer lodge accommodation in any of the beautiful African lodges within suitable distance of your excursion.
The Northern Circuit includes Arusha National Park, Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation area and Crater, Serengeti National Park, Lake Eyasi National Park, Lake Natron, and Saadani National Park. While the Southern Circuit includes Mikumi National Park, Ruaha National Park, Saadani National Park, and Selous Game Reserve.
