We are always looking for people to join our growing team of dedicated staff either in a voluntary capacity or as a permanent member of staff. In line with our ethos and values, the majority of permanent positions we have available are for Tanzanian applicants only. However, if you’re based overseas please don’t despair! We understand that sometimes two heads are better than one and as such we occasionally open up our recruitment to international applicants who have the desired skills and experience to impart on our staff.

Project Marketer -Voluntary – Minimum Six Months

We are looking for someone with marketing experience to join our team here at Peace Matunda. You will be working alongside our staff to promote Peace Matunda School and Orphanage and also Peace Matunda tours, who support our school and orphanage.

Projects you would be working to promote and grow include:

  • Peace Matunda Foundation
  • Fundraising Events
  • Child Sponsorship Programme
  • Volunteer Programme
  • Web advertising

If you have experience in marketing, are competent in both written and spoken English, ready for a life changing experience and you’re passionate about improving the lives of our children here at Peace Matunda then we are looking for you.

This position will be on a voluntary basis and you will be required to stay for a minimum of six months. We will provide you with food and accommodation however you will need to provide your own flights and visa.

Business Mentor -Voluntary – Minimum Six Months

We are looking for someone to join our team here at Peace Matunda School and Orphanage to help our NGO grow into the future.

Projects you would be working to develop alongside our staff include:

  • Business plan
  • Financial Plan
  • Funding proposals.

If you have a passion to help improve the lives of our children here at Peace Matunda and also have experience developing business plans,  applying for funding grants, you’re competent in both written and spoken English and you’re ready for a life changing experience then we are looking for you.

This position will be on a voluntary basis and you will be required to stay for a minimum of six months. We will provide you with food and accommodation however you will need to provide your own flights and visa.

Ambassador-Program

The Peace Matunda Ambassador-Program is initiated to encourage people from around the world to support our mission in different ways and to raise more and more awareness about our work at Peace Matunda School and Orphanage. Without support from abroad our 250 children would not be able to access quality education and we want to spread the word even more to be able to continue with our work. But for spreading the word and for raising awareness we need the help of our friends worldwide and therefore we want to establish an international work team, which aim it is to support us on different levels. Members of these international team are called ambassadors and are involved in fund-raising as well as in promoting the volunteer- and sponsorship-program.

What does an ambassador have to do?

– fund raise a minimum of $2,000 per year

– do a minimum of three talks to promote the volunteer- and sponsorship-program.

– recruit new sponsors

What does an ambassador get back (if he/she is successful)?

– working reference

– free stay at Peace Matunda for one week

– exchange of ideas with other ambassadors (connected through e.g. facebook) in an international

work team

What to do next?

An Ambassador will sign up for one year and commits to support Peace Matunda during this time through fund-raising and spreading the word, so that our Peace Matunda family can grow more and more.

Volunteer Job description

Montessori Teacher

1. Job description

We are looking for students of the education department with specialization in Montessori who want to do an internship/ Praxissemester (min. of 6 months) in an English medium Primary School in a small village in Tanzania.

Your tasks would be the following:

– Training of our local staff in Montessori- methods

– Development of current teaching methods and inclusion of Montessori

– Mentor for teachers

– After-school activities (e.g. tuition)

– Taking part in any other school related activity that may be needed at that time

If you have more ideas to support us with our work or to share your knowledge with us, you are very welcome to introduce your thoughts/project ideas.

Note:

There are two school terms in a single year at Peace Matunda. The first term runs from January until the end of May and the second term runs from July until the end of November.There is no school during the months of June and December and one week break in April and September, please keep this in mind if you plan your stay.

 

2. Requirements

 

Visa Requirements:

The Tanzanian government requires an entry visa, that you must apply and pay for at the Tanzanian embassy in your home country prior to your departure OR purchase in the international airport upon arrival, as well as a volunteer permit.

What you should bring with you:

– Creativity and ideas how to develop the school and our teaching

– Good spoken and written English

– It would be an advantage for both sides if you can bring your own teaching equipment.

 

Before you decide to come here, you should ask yourself:

– Are you prepared to live in a small village and can you handle all difficulties (for example having no reliable electricity/internet/water)?

– Most important: Are you ready for this experience within a different culture, lifestyle and language?

If you can afford these requirements and if you can answer this questions with a clear YES than you are the right person for this job and we are looking forward to your application!

Volunteer Job description

Primary School Teacher

 

1. Job description
