Volunteering with us

Peace Matunda School and Children´s Center depends on help from volunteers. We welcome volunteers from all over the world from a period of 4 weeks or more.

Volunteers are needed mainly to assist in the school organising activities for the children and helping the teachers. Our matrons can always use a hand with cleaning, cooking, laundry and dishes as well, should this take your fancy!

You can also get involved in the after-school care of the children and organize their free time with them. You can take the kids swimming, play volleyball, soccer or badminton, or suggest completely new concepts and get creatively involved.

Do you have technical or manual talent? Then there is always something to do at the Peace Matunda Children´s Center, as we are constantly expanding and maintaining the center. The renovation of the buildings, a new coat of paint, minor repairs, there is always something to do.

We endeavor to provide volunteers with variety and flexibility in terms of their contribution. Volunteers can try different tasks before deciding how they want to devote their time. Though we try to structure the work day for the benefit of the volunteers and children, we of course understand the need to get out and about too! This is why we are flexible on times when you perhaps want a break for safari or to go explore Arusha.

Peace Matunda Tours is a cultural tourism, safari, and guided trekking tour company that supports the School and Orphanage.

Language and Cultural Week

If you wish to start your trip with an introduction to the Swahili language and the region, we offer a Language and Cultural Week. We highly recommend this week as it will allow you to explore more freely in the following weeks. Contact us for more information!
