Volunteers are needed mainly to assist in the school, organising activities for the children and helping the teachers. Our matrons Maggie and Martha can always use a hand with cleaning, cooking, laundry and dishes as well, should this take your fancy!

We endeavor to provide volunteers with flexibility and variety in terms of their contribution. Volunteers get to try different work tasks before deciding how they want to devote their time. Although we try to structure the working day for the benefit of the volunteers as well as the children, we of course understand the need to get out and about too! This is why we are flexible on cover for times when you wish to perhaps take a break for safari or simply go into town to explore.
We are proud members of Pack for a Purpose, an initiative that allows travelers like you to make a lasting impact in the community at your travel destination. If you save just a few kilos of space in your suitcase and bring supplies for area schools or medical clinics in need, you’ll make a priceless impact in the lives of our local children and families. Please click here to see what supplies are needed for our project/projects.
A Language and Cultural Week is offered for those who wish to start their stay in Tanzania with an introduction to Tanzanian culture and the Swahili language. During this week you will also learn about the Arusha region through excursions in the area. We highly recommend this week as it will allow you to explore freely in the following weeks with a good ground knowledge of local areas and some useful vocab!
